Skin diseases In Children

Skin diseases caused by some bacteria and viruses are seen in children. The most common skin diseases are rash, eczema, host, etc.

Bacterial Skin Infections

Impetigo is a bacterial skin disease that can be seen both on the skin surface and under the skin (ectima) between the ages of 2 and 5 years. Group A beta-hemolytic streptococcus is transmitted by skin contact of staphylococcal aureus bacteria such as open wound and cut area. It is also transmitted from person to person. Contact with someone with impetigo and lack of attention to cleanliness carry risks for children. Care for cleaning, antibiotic syrup or tablet, treatment process with ointment is carried out.

Folliculitis is a skin disease that occurs as a result of inflammation of the hair follicle. In these cases, the treatment process is carried out with antibiotic (syrup, ointment) treatment and medical shampoos.
Staphylococcal Scalded Skin Syndrome is a skin disease caused by staphylococcus aureus exfoliative bacteria. It occurs in conditions such as a weak immune system and long-term kidney failure. Although it is possible to be seen in all age groups, the incidence is more common in children under 6 years of age. After the physical examination, biopsy and culture are taken and the diagnosis is made. The treatment process is carried out with antibiotic and liquid support.

Child Eczema (atopic dermatitis)

It is a skin disease that appears with red, dry, itchy blisters caused by inflammation on the skin of children. Severe itching skin blisters are seen. It affects the quality of school and life. Conditions such as stress, sadness, and genetic factors are among the causes of atopic dermatitis. The treatment process is carried out with corticosteroid-containing drugs and, if necessary, phototherapy.

Psoriasis In Children

Factors such as strep infections, stress, skin injuries, etc. cause psoriasis. Red colored skin spots called plaque are seen. The difference with eczema is itching. The treatment process is carried out with topical drugs. Phototherapy is required in moderate to severe cases.
