Diagnosis and Treatment Methods In Cardiovascular Surgery
The methods applied as both diagnosis and treatment in the cardiovascular surgery department are very important in terms of detecting and preventing diseases, occluded vessels and complications that may develop.
Peripheral angiography, which is a surgical interventional treatment, is a surgical interventional method. It is applied to open the occlusion of narrowed or blocked arteries and to ensure blood flow again.
If there are drugs used by the patient before the procedure, a drug arrangement is made. Depending on the patient's condition, sedatives can be given and the patient can also be sedated (sleep). Local anesthesia is applied to the area where the procedure will be performed. The patient may be given opaque material to view the heart. It is tried to open a blockage and provide blood flow by transmitting the wire passed through the arm or groin area where the procedure will be performed to the vein.
After the procedure, doctor control and compliance with the medical treatment to be given are important. It is recommended that the patient does not physically strain himself too much for a few days.
Balloon and stent application, that is, peripheral angioplasty, is the surgical interventional treatment of peripheral artery disease in our hospital. The narrowed or clogged arteries are entered through the arm or groin area and the clogged area is passed through the wire and the balloon is inflated in the clogged area and blood flow is provided. Depending on the patient's condition and congestion, a stent can also be placed in these areas. After peripheral angioplasty, treatment is supported by drugs and the aim is to prevent the blockage from occurring again and to control the blockage.
In preference angioplasty, this method, called shaving, is used if efficient and sufficient results cannot be obtained after blon and stent applications. The purpose of this treatment method is to completely clean the plaques in the clogged vein. The plaque is mechanically scraped clean. The duration of the procedure may vary depending on the vessel to be treated and the amount of congestion. At the same time, bolan angioplasty can be performed to relax the vessels after this application.
The patient's controls are performed before the treatment. After the angiography is applied to the patient, the patient is taken to the angiography laboratory. The catheter is inserted into the occluded vessel. After the wire is passed through the catheter, it is advanced to the clogged part of the artery and the cutting part of the catheter and the plaques in the artery are cleaned.
Blood flow is provided in the cleaned artery.
If the doctor deems it appropriate after the treatment, the medications to be given should be followed and controls should be followed.
